Okay, so here I was all weekend feeling bad that I hadn't blogged before heading out for camp school, but now I see I wasn't the only one who didn't blog on Thursday.
So, H seems to be liking school. He was very excited to go the first day. We have been telling him that W rides the big bus and he will ride the little bus hoping he won't have to many tantrums when he doesn't get to hop on W's bus at the crack of dawn. He's so cute, if you ask which bus he rides, he will hold his thumb and forefinger up and say "wittow bushhh". Of course he found an old backpack of W's in the car and insisted on taking it with him. He had a little trouble with the concept of putting his coat and backpack in his cubby (and I think part of that may be that we call it a shelf here, who knows). When he came home he was just like his big brother. He dumped his backpack right in the middle of the traffic flow. He was very proud of the rainbow picture he colored his first day. I could even tell he was trying to say rainbow. This morning he eagerly asked about his "wittow bushhh" and I had to tell him that he needed to wait until tomorrow. He was a little huffy about that, but he's recovered now.
D was off again on Thursday. So went off to my second PT session. The first was 3 hours long. The second was only about 1 1/2 hours. After that I met with MandM and Miss S. Miss S is just growing up sooo fast. And talk about independent! I know people have told me that it's good to have an independent child, but I really question that sometimes and I think MandM does also. It was kind of nice having just a girls lunch, but it did seem funny not having H with us.
So, Thursday night I headed up north for National Camp School. OMG, the kept us busy. Breakfast was at 7, which isn't too bad. But then we only had just enough time to get from one location to the next and not quite enough time to cycle everyone through the limited bathrooms before our next session would start. We had a fairly decent lunch and dinner break. Then we would have more sessions until about 930 or so. Of course then even though you had been struggling to stay awake all afternoon, you couldn't just go to sleep. I think we sat in the cabins talking until about midnight Friday night and 1130 Saturday night. So, the big promotional shpeal they gave me was "busy, fun, informative, you'll have a blast"...typical stuff like that. Friday a woman in the other group fell and broke her arm in two places doing one of the activities. Saturday night two other women disappeared and we had no idea what was up with that. (alien abduction or big foot fodder???). We hear stories about surgery and church issues, but I don't think so. One of the women was in my group and had mentioned she was scheduled for surgery in a few weeks, so that's where that came from and I'm sure if she had arranged to leave early she would have mentioned it to us. Anyway, Sunday morning one of the other women in my group went home sick. And then there was the weather. Freezing the first morning, raining the second day and snowing the last day. Of course it couldn't just stay snow. It had to turn from wet snow to a downpour of rain. That made the wet snow just slush that was about ankle deep. The downpours seemed to be timed to coincide with when we were trying to pack stuff to our cars. So, my sleeping bag was drenched, I could run my hands down my thighs and squish water out of my pant legs. Ughh. It was fun though and I think now I have a much better understanding of just how little I know about being program director of a day camp, but too late to worry about that now.
I must say, D did a great job with the kids while I was gone. They do still have all of their limbs. As D pointed out, they are alive and the house didn't burn down. They way they picked at dinner last night tells me they were adequately fed. (Even with my cold I could tell dinner tasted good, so I know the boys didn't pick at their food because D did a bad job with it.) D admitted he took them into public. Of course I hadn't given permission for that. He said as long as they were within earshot he figured they were fine. He did say that people looked at him funny. My first question was "did they see anyone we knew". With the exception of one of the Good News Club teachers, they didn't.
So, now I am off to clean house and try to recover from fatigue and my cold or whatever it is.
Since only MandM updated, I have to say I hope you all had good weeks, because you didn't tell me if you did or not.
Till Thursday....

H is such a big boy riding the bus!!! I can't imagine J getting on the bus and going to school. I still see a baby when I look at him!
